Mumbai Attack Case: Lawyers to travel to India next month
The court staffer will take along the case records.
A delegation of Pakistani lawyers will travel to India in the first week of next month to examine evidence and witnesses in the 2008 Mumbai attack case. The Pakistani lawyers will appear before a one-member commission formed on the orders of the Mumbai High Court, according to the BBC Urdu. Seven members of the outlawed Lashkar-e-Taiba, including its operational chief Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi and commander Zarar, are being tried in an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail. Earlier Pakistan’s interior ministry had said in a statement that a judicial commission will travel to India in the first week of February to examine evidence and witnesses in the Mumbai attack case. However, prosecution lawyer Chaudhry Azhar told the BBC that prosecutors, defence lawyers, an investigation officer and a court staffer will travel to India. The court staffer will take along the case records.
