Filmstar Meera adopts baby deer
Meera, who has been named the zoo's ambassador, will pay Rs108,000 a year for the deers' upkeep.

Lollywood actor Meera has adopted two baby deer, in order to raise awareness of the rights of animals.
Meera signed the required documentation on Friday and pledged to make an annual payment of 108,000 rupees to Lahore Zoo. The zoo administration has also announced that Meera has been named their ambassador.
“I will get married whenever God wills for that to happen,” Meera told reporters. “I have no intention to marry secretly.”
In May 2011, Meera’s known competitor actor Reema Khan was embroiled in a controversy as the Lahore Zoo claimed that she had adopted two deers but refused to pay for their upkeep.
Reema was also named as the zoo’s ambassador.
