Squash: ‘Sport on track for the Olympics’

Willstrop believes that the Tournament of Champions will show why squash deserves to become an Olympic sport.

NEW YORK:
World number one James Willstrop believes that the Tournament of Champions that starts today will show why squash deserves to become an Olympic sport. Willstrop aims to boost the sport’s attempt at getting into the Games by what he does and says at one of the World Tour’s most unusual venues, which includes an all-glass court under chandeliers at the Vanderbilt Hall in New York. “We play at such special venues that you have to pinch yourself when you see them,” said Willstrop. “It’s one of the remarkable things about squash courts that they’re completely portable. It’s a great thing we can give to the Olympics.”
