Life imprisonment for man who burned Quran
Five prosecution witnesses recorded statements against the accused.

A man found guilty of burning a copy of the Holy Quran was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday by Additional District and Sessions Judge Hamid Hussain. According to the prosecution, complainant Naseer Ahmed had seen Muhammad Ameen burning pages of the Quran at his home. Five prosecution witnesses recorded statements against Ameen. On the other hand Ameen told the court that he was implicated wrongly. He contended that a prosecution witness, Zahid, had illicit relations with his wife. He also said that Ahmed and Zahid were stanch Deobandis and considered him and other Shias infidels.
