Identity crisis: ASI booked for accusing wrong man

Sialkot police station’s accused ASI for extorting Rs15,000 in a fictitious case involving abduction of a minor girl.

SIALKOT: District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Mohsin Ali arrested an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) for falsely implicating another man in an abduction case. According to police officials, the DPO ordered the arrest of Sialkot Cantt police station’s accused ASI Muhammad Asif for extorting Rs15,000 from Mudassar Iqbal by implicating him in a fictitious case involving the abduction of a minor girl. The kidnapped girl, Zainab Bibi appeared before a police inquiry team and told the court that she was not abducted by the accused Mudassar. The police then registered a case against the accused ASI Khalid and arrested him.
