Olympics out of range for female shooters

Pakistan suffer dismal start at men’s skeet as well.

KARACHI:
Pakistan shooters suffered another embarrassing day at the Asian Shooting Championship, failing to confirm their Olympics berth in two events.

Three-time Olympian Khurram Inam and Abdul Sattar took part in the skeet event but failed to match the top Asian shooters. Their female compatriots lost out in the air pistol event, ending hopes of featuring in the Olympics.

According to the National Rifle Association of Pakistan Secretary Javed Lodhi, chances of the shooters getting a skeet berth disappeared after a poor start. “It was a disappointing start and it’s impossible to achieve anything after that,” Lodhi told The Express Tribune. “We were expecting a lot from our female shooters as well but they took a lot of pressure.”
