Change of plan: MQM delays its Sukkur rally
MQM chief, Altaf Hussain said in a speech on December 28 that the rally will be the largest in the area’s history.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) postponed its rally in Sukkur planned for January 20 “in view of the current situation of the country.”
The decision to postpone the event, titled “Prosperous Sindh, Strong Pakistan” was taken at a joint meeting of the coordination committee, according to a press release issued by the MQM. The party said that it will announce a new date later.
The MQM chief, Altaf Hussain, had said in a speech on December 28 that the rally will be the largest in the area’s history.
The deputy convener of the party Dr Farooq Sattar said on Sunday that the party will back the resolution presented by Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali on Friday, in support of democracy in the National Assembly. However, the MQM told the government and President Asif Ali Zardari to refrain from a confrontation between institutions.
