Cricket: Whatmore meets PCB officials
According to officials, Whatmore, who arrived in Lahore on Thursday, also met other board officials during a luncheon.

Dav Whatmore, the leading contender to take over the job of Pakistan’s head coach, met the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed yesterday. According to officials, Whatmore, who arrived in Lahore on Thursday, also met other board officials during a luncheon where he was accompanied by Intikhab Alam, head of the committee formed to find a replacement for Waqar Younis. Whatmore is expected to meet PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf today and, while the board has declined to reveal details, an official close to the Alam-led committee said the Australian’s appointment would be finalised as Pakistan coach after the meeting, with a formal announcement expected in late February after the series against England.
