Damage Control: Rs12 billion given to flood survivors

The catastrophe devastated the province’s irrigation system which is being built anew considering climatic changes.

Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has said the provincial government has disbursed Rs12 billion among the flood-hit people through Watan cards, free seeds and fertiliser.



He also claimed that floodwater has been drained from 70% of the affected areas. The rains and floods in 2011 struck about seven million people and destroyed crops over 2.5 million acres of land in addition to the massive loss of livestock animals. The catastrophe devastated the province’s irrigation system which is being built anew considering climatic changes.
