Traders protested for several hours after a group of robbers stole jewellery worth Rs30 million on Saturday. According to police officials, the incident occurred in the Serai Alamgir Sarafa market when a band of robbers broke into a jewellery store, broke the locks of three shops and stole gold before fleeing the scene. Jewellers and traders protested against the incident and blocked GT Road. District Superintendent Police (DSP) Kharian reached the scene and negotiated with the traders after registering a case against the accused.
