IG Punjab suspends DSP for misusing his authority

The complainant said the DSP filed seven fake FIRs against her and her family members.

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police (IG) Punjab Javed Iqbal suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Qila Didar Singh, Shiekh Javed for his involvement in harassment of a company owner by misusing his authority.

The complainant, Khalida Parveen, submitted an application to the IGP, complaining that the DSP filed seven fake First Information Reports (FIRs) against her and her family members.

Parveen also claimed that the concerned DSP was supporting her uncle, who intends to take over her profitable business.

The IGP had immediately appointed DIG Mubashar Ullah as an inquiry officer.

According to the fact finding report, the DSP was found guilty as charged. The IGP suspended the DSP and ordered him to report to the Police Headquarters (PHQ).
