Administration banned the stay of seminary students of foreign origin and unregistered tenants in Abbottabad.
ABBOTABAD:
Following the arrest of Omar Patek, the mastermind of the Bali bombings and the killing of Osama bin Laden by American commandos, the district administration has finally decided to crack down on terrorists and criminal elements.
In a rare move, the administration on Wednesday banned the stay of seminary students of foreign origin and unregistered tenants in Abbottabad.
DCO Abbottabad Syed Imtiaz Hussain imposed section 144 in the district for the next 30 days, and announced mandatory registration of all tenants living in Abbottabad with the police.
He also ordered closure of all guest houses operating in the district’s revenue limits without permission from local authorities. The DCO warned that strict action would be taken against violators.
