Blood Ties: Man slaughters minor daughter, attempts suicide

Man's sister was arguing with him over household expenses when he suddenly lost his temper and went into a rage.

BAHAWALNAGAR:

Police arrested a man after he murdered his minor daughter and attempted suicide on Wednesday.

According to police officials, Madina Town resident SHO Hameed Aslam’s son Muntazir allegedly murdered his eight-year-old daughter Tania after a quarrel with his sister.

Aslam told police that his son took a knife to his daughter’s throat and slaughtered her and then attempted to kill himself. “He killed her and then took the knife to his own neck but he fainted,” Aslam told the police.

“His sister was arguing with him over household expenses and he suddenly lost his temper and went into a rage,” he added.

Aslam rushed his son to the DHQ hospital in critical condition.

Doctors at the hospital have termed his condition to be critical. “His wife died three days ago and he was extremely depressed,” Aslam told police, adding that Muntazir was concerned about how he would raise his daughter alone.

Police officials have registered a case.
