BIg Bash League: Adelaide struck down by the Sixers

Sydney cruise to a 64-run win over Strikers in Big Bash League.

Adelaide Strikers failed to recover from a poor start and crashed to a 64-run defeat at the hands of the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.

Chasing 152 to register their third win of the tournament, Adelaide lost their first wicket without a run on the board and regular wickets from thereon forced them to be bundled out for a dismal 87. Only three players managed to get into double figures with Aiden Blizzard top-scoring for Adelaide with a 21-ball 27.

Steve O’Keefe picked up three wickets for Sydney, while Nathan McCullum, Brett Lee and veteran Stuart McGill picked up a brace each.

Earlier, decent contributions from Moises Henriques (42) and Nic Maddinson (31) followed by a late flourish by McCullum allowed Sydney to sneak past the 150-mark. Alfonso Thomas was the most successful bowler for Adelaide, picking up three wickets off his quota.
