Road Tragedy: 3 drown as bus plunges into river
Rescuers pulled out the bus from the river after 8 hours of hectic efforts.
BAHAWALPUR:
At least three people were killed when a Karachi-bound passenger bus plunged into the Indus River near the Chacharan Sharif area on Monday. Local sources said that the bus driver took a detour from its route and took a shorter route that involved a temporary bridge. The bridge, however, couldn’t sustain the weight and caved in. And the bus plunged into the river. As a result three people, Muhammad Akbar, 35, his 10-year old daughter Shadra and a minor girl died. Rescuers pulled out the bus from the river after 8 hours of hectic efforts.
