Public Healthcare: Sobhraj hospital expands to 300 beds

Sobhraj Medical Hospital has become the largest maternity hospital in the city after 170 beds were added to its original 120-bed set-up, said its medical superintendent, Shabeen Naaz Masood, on Friday. She said that Rs80 million was spent on the construction. Every year about 95,000 patients visit the hospital for check-ups, 14,000 are admitted and about 6,000 deliveries are carried out. The medical facilities are free of charge and the new set-up will open soon to accommodate more patients, added Masood.
