Threatened: ‘Shaheed’ status demanded for Kharral
In a special meeting, the general body of doctors at the institution condemned the assassination of Dr Kharal.

The doctors and staff of the Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) demanded all posthumous benefits of a ‘Shaheed’ for Dr Saleem Kharal, who was shot dead on Friday. In a special meeting, the general body of doctors at the institution condemned the assassination of Dr Kharal, who was the head of microbiology department. They said that his premature death has adversely affected his family, colleagues, hospital and patients. The doctors also demanded special security for healthcare professionals, as they are a vulnerable group and are being targeted regularly.
