Election Preps: JUI plans rallies on Jan 27 and Jan 29
JUI plans on organising a public rally in Karachi on January 27.
LAHORE:
The Jamait-i-Ulema-i-Islam (JUI) plans on organising a public rally in Karachi on January 27, said central information secretary Maulana Muhammad Amjad Khan on Wednesday. A caravan will also be taken out from Lahore to Gujranwala, led by Maulana Fazalur Rehman and Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, on January 29, he said. Khan said that the two activities were part of JUI’s election campaign “since elections can be held anytime”. However, he insisted that the JUI was not in favour of early elections because it wanted the assemblies to complete their tenure. Khan said JUI wanted to form an alliance of religious parties.
