LHC issues bailable arrest warrants for jail superintendent

The petitioner, Ali submitted that he was falsely implicated for Irshad's murder and should be considered for bail.

LAHORE: Justice Sheikh Ahmad Farooq of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday issued bailable arrest warrants for a district jail superintendent  Sheikhupura to ensure his appearance before the court at its next hearing, set for January 12.

The court had summoned the superintendent today, in a bail petition of murder accused Liaquat Ali, but he did not appear nor did he submit his report.

Justice Farooq took notice of this and issued arrest warrants for the superintendent.

The petitioner, Ali submitted that he was innocent and had been falsely implicated for Irshad's murder. The case was registered with the Sharaqpur Sharif police station on February 13, 2011.

He submitted that the co-accused had already been granted bail and that he too should be considered for it.
