The livestock and agriculture sectors have great potential for growth and could make Pakistan a prosperous country, said Agriculture and Livestock Minister Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh on Monday. The minister was speaking at the inauguration of a one-month workshop at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences on ‘Capacity Building of Livestock Dairy Development Department officers’. UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that the university was focusing on livestock industries and farmers’ issues. He said that the poultry industry could grow to become Pakistan’s second largest after textiles.
