Snooker: Akaash wins K-P junior title

Khan raced into a 2-0 lead by winning the first two frames 60-48 and 48-10.

PESHAWAR:
Raja Akaash defeated second-seed Fawad Khan in the final of the Fourth Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Junior Snooker Championship played at the Green Snooker Club, Peshawar yesterday. Khan raced into a 2-0 lead by winning the first two frames 60-48 and 48-10. However, Akaash staged a fine comeback and clinched the next three frames 61-14, 85-29 and 61-27 to lift the trophy. “I was relaxed in the first two frames even though I lost them,” said Akaash. “Ever since I watched former champion Mohammad Yousuf’s game, I’ve taken the same approach of playing with a cool head and never losing my concentration.”
