LAHORE:
Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) members observed a strike on Monday to condemn the murder of a lawyer in Mandi Baha-ud-Din.

Pervez Iqbal Tarar was reportedly shot near his native village of Saleema near Phalia on January 1 due to an old personal enmity.

The lawyers boycotted the courts after 11:30am on the first working day of the new year, to mourn the assassination of their colleague.

Tarrar was a member of the LHCBA and leaves behind a widow and two sons.

LHCBA president Aslam Ali Gill has demanded for an immediate arrest of the culprits and exemplary punishment for them.
