Tennis: Haas warns Murray over complacency
Tommy Haas has warned Britain’s number one Andy Murray against complacency at the Brisbane International event.
LONDON:
Former world number two Tommy Haas has warned Britain’s number one Andy Murray against complacency at the Brisbane International event. Top-seed Murray is the overwhelming favourite at Queensland and will be looking to gather some momentum ahead of the Australian Open as he takes on world number 91 Mikhail Kukushkin in his first fixture. Haas, however, believes that Murray will not have things easy, particularly in the latter stages of the competition. “It’s the beginning of the year and it’s really about the person who put a lot of work in December and is fit and is coming here eagerly to win,” said Haas. “You’ve got guys like Marcos Baghdatis who are very dangerous, so you never know.”
