Written-Off Loans: Probe commission appoints members
Commission to examine written-off loan cases of Rs2.5 million for the period 1971-1992 and of Rs25 million from 1992
KARACHI:
Written-off Loan Commission Chairman Justice (Retd) Syed Jamshed Ali has appointed Muhammad Akram Malik and Ibraz Saeed Raazi as members of the commission with immediate effect. The commission, which started functioning from December 19, will examine written-off loan cases of Rs2.5 million and above for the period 1971-1992 and written-off loans of Rs25 million and above for the period from 1992 onwards of banks and development finance institutions (DFIs). The Supreme Court of Pakistan, in a suo motu case, had appointed Syed Jamshed Ali as chairman of the commission on June 3 this year.
