LHC sent a tehsildar of Kasur to jail for seven days for defying an order of a civil court.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Friday sent a tehsildar of Kasur to jail for seven days for defying an order of a civil court. Tehsildar Azharuz Zaman filed a petition in the LHC challenging a show cause notice issued by a civil court for not implementing a court order. In the petition, he pleaded that he had implemented the civil court order, but with a little delay. He requested the court to set aside the show cause notice issued to him by the civil court. Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh dismissed his petition and observed that defiance of court’s orders was not acceptable. The judge ordered to send the tehsildar to jail for seven days, however, allowed him to challenge his sentence by filing an appeal within 15 days.
