BAHAWALPUR: A sanitation worker, who had not been paid his salary for two months, committed suicide in Bahawalpur on Thursday. Rauf Masih, an employee of Bahawalpur’s Town Municipal Authority, had reportedly refused to pay a bribe to the authority’s sanitation inspectors who retaliated by withholding his salary.  TMA’s sanitation staff, who observed a complete strike in Bahawalpur on Thursday, said the inspectors responsible were Malik Riaz and Nazir Masih.

The workers demanded a thorough probe into the incident.
