Lawlessness: Killed during neighbourhood watch
Residents staged a protest demonstration against the killing of a youth by bandits.

Dozens of residents of Shahianwala on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against the killing of a youth by bandits while guarding a picket set up by residents to prevent robberies in the area. Protesters said Yaseen and other youngsters had asked the bandits to surrender but the latter opened fire at them, killing Yaseen on the spot and injuring Qadeer. The protesters staged a sit-in on Jhang Road and blocked it for traffic. They alleged that some police officials were colluding with outlaws. They said they had reported several robberies but police had failed to take action in any of the cases. The protesters dispersed after a police team led by Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) arrived at the scene and assured them of action against Yasin’s killers.
