Tennis: Hewitt dismisses retirement talk

MELBOURNE: Former world number one Lleyton Hewitt has dismissed talk of his retirement as ‘a load of rubbish’ ahead of the new season. The Australian has been troubled by a toe injury but the 30-year-old insists quitting is not on his agenda. “Retirement talks have been around since I was 26 because I was a 10-year veteran by then,” he said. “So for me it’s just a load of rubbish. I go out there and do my job and I’m fortunate that I’m in a sport where I can choose when I want to stop. I’m more motivated now than a couple of years ago.”
