In Hot Pursuit: Baby dolphin strays into canal

The baby dolphin was later released in the river near Satyoun jo Aasthan.

SUKKUR:
A female baby blind Indus dolphin got lost in the Khairpur Feeder East Canal on Wednesday. A team of the wildlife department rushed to the scene and managed to catch it after two hours. The baby dolphin was later released in the river near Satyoun jo Aasthan (The abode of the seven sisters) where the water is relatively deeper. According to the deputy conservator of the wildlife department of Sukkur, Ghulam Mohammad Gadani, the dolphin was one-year-old, weighed 16 kilogrammes and measured 3.7 feet. It was in perfect health and had made its way into the canal while chasing fish.
