SUKKUR:

The three-day celebrations of Shiv Autar Sant Shadha Ram Sahib’s 303rd birthday came to an end in Ghotki on Tuesday.

Dr Bhesham Lal led the group, which included women and children, who travelled on the Awam Express and arrived at the Mirpur Mathelo railway station.

Pilgrims continued to drift in for the festival and the Gaddi Nasheen of Shadhani Darbar Sant Yudistar Lal arrived on Friday from Raipur, India.  He brought 46 Hindu yatris including eight women. On the second day of the celebrations, nearly 13 Hindu couples were married.

All wedding expenses were dealt with members of the community.

Some people had sent gifts and money to the couples from different parts of the country.

They also  organised ‘jariyan’, where the priest puts a thread around the neck of young Hindu boys.

This year around 18 boys were there. The Gaddi Nasheen and devotees are set to visit temples in Jarwar and Mathelo Momal Ji Mari. They plan to visit Sukkur and temples in Daharki.
