Hockey: Bannu beat Peshawar to lift trophy
Bannu defeated Peshawar 4-2 in the final.
PESHAWAR:
Bannu defeated Peshawar 4-2 in the final of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Inter-Regional Hockey Championship held at the Abbottabad Hockey Stadium. Peshawar squandered a two-goal lead as Bannu showed great character to register a comeback under pressure. After conceding early on, Samiullah led Bannu’s comeback with goals in the 30th and 34th minutes. Qaiser put Bannu ahead for the first time in the match after the interval and Babar Ali added a fourth later on. Peshawar kept up the pressure in the dying moments of the game but were unable to reduce the deficit as Bannu were crowned champions.
