Load Shedding: Wapda, centre issued notices

LHC issued notices for December 28 to the federal government and WAPDA on an application to stop load shedding.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday issued notices for December 28 to the federal government and WAPDA on a civil miscellaneous application seeking directions to stop load shedding. LHC Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed issued these notices on the application filed by Advocate Azhar Siddique into a pending petition seeking court orders to stop power outages till the control of dengue virus. Earlier, the lawyer had submitted that the government could not supply uninterrupted electric supplies to the hospitals, especially in the ongoing season when rivers were full of water and there was no shortfall in production of electricity. He said that the government was not paying outstanding payments causing hurdle in the production of electricity.
