New Degree: UVAS introduces MSc in wetlands management
The degree will be the first programme of its type in Pakistan; will consist of 26 courses.

The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Pakistan Wetlands Programme (PWP) have jointly decided to launch an MSc degree in wetlands management.
The degree will be the first programme of its type in Pakistan. It will consist of 26 courses including constructed wetlands for waste water treatment, wetlands management, wetlands biodiversity, approaches for sustainable wetlands, wetlands conservation management, groundwater exploitation, socio-economic and ecological development of wetlands. The admission requirement for the degree is a BSc degree in Zoology, Botany and forestry. Moreover, one student will be awarded a Rs20,000 scholarship every semester. UVAS Vice Chancellor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that the university was focusing on problems-oriented research for the industry and farmers.
