Tennis: Aqeel eases into Subhe Nau 2nd round
Aqeel Khan cruised into the second round of the men’s singles event.

Top-seed Aqeel Khan cruised into the second round of the men’s singles event at the Subhe Nau National Hardcourt Tennis championship, which began at the Karachi Sports Complex yesterday. Aqeel barely broke a sweat as he defeated Syed Abbas Raza 6-1, 6-2. Meanwhile, Yasir Khan outplayed Hassan Javed 6-0, 6-1 and Heera Ashiq beat Mohammad Naseem 6-1, 6-1. In other action, Talha Zubair defeated Fahim Razan 6-3, 6-3, Zohair Raza defeated Amanul Anwar 6-0, 6-2 and Vinod Das outclassed Mohammad Azhar 6-1, 6-1. The women’s singles event starts from today alongside the boys under-18, boys U-14 and mixed U-11 competitions.
