Threat allegations: Police told to register complaint against minister

Judge directed to register a complaint against the provincial food minister in a petition filed by a headmaster.

LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Friday directed the Raiwind station house officer to register a complaint against the provincial food minister in a petition filed by a headmaster.

Petitioner Mazher Ali Kazmi submitted that the minister, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, had threatened to get him killed if he initiated action against four teachers who, according to him, were work shirkers. The petitioner said the teachers had been leaving school without taking classes. He said he had issued show cause notices to these teachers and then approached Raiwind police with a complaint against them. He said he was later contacted by the l minister who warned him against initiating any action against the teachers.
