Pml-N Rally: Islamabad an icon of graft: Nawaz

PML-N president speaks out against what he refers to as 'rampant corruption'.

CHISTIAN:

Addressing a rally in Chistian, Bahawalnagar that some ground estimates place at 45,000 strong, Pakistan Muslim League chief Nawaz Sharif said Islamabad has become ‘an icon of corruption’.

In a speech filled with fiery rhetoric, the PML-N president spoke out against what he referred to as rampant corruption, adding that many sitting in the present government have had allegations of corruption proven against them. Many people have entered the arena of politics today to deceive the people, Nawaz said – but the ‘real’ Pakistan only existed when the PML-N was in power.

The party chief spent much of his time propounding on his own sacrifices as a political leader, speaking of how he had been ‘thrown out of the country, tortured, beaten and jailed, but he and the PML-N had never left the people of Pakistan’.
