Attempted Robbery: Robber nearly lynched after boy killed

Kashif Arain charged at the shop of Waseem Ahmed with his two accomplices in Liaquat Colony area.

HYDERABAD:

Heavy police contingents thwarted the lynching of a robber who tried to escape after killing a twelve-year-old boy and injuring his father during a robbery attempt at a scrap dealer’s shop.

Kashif Arain charged at the shop of Waseem Ahmed with his two accomplices in Liaquat Colony area. As Ahmed and his son Hamad tried to stop the dacoits, they opened fire on them.  Hamad was fatally shot in the chest while his father was shot in the left leg.

Both men were taken to Civil hospital. The SHO of the Sakhi Pir police station, Khalil Shah, said that Arain was first caught by Ahmed’s neighbours but he managed to escape. He was later caught by an angry mob intending to beat him up.

The policemen and the Rangers had to negotiate the suspect’s release from the crowd, during which SP Headquarters Zafar Iqbal and Shah were injured when people started pelting them with stones. Shah said that the FIR registration is underway by Ahmed’s brother, Muhmmad Ramzan.
