Private education: School owners protest new policy
Warn of a protest drive unless old commercialisation policy is restored.
FAISALABAD:
All Pakistan Private Schools Alliance Founders (APPSAF) on Thursday warned to launch a protest drive against the Faisalabad Development Authority for introducing a commercialisation and registration policy for private schools in the district.
They demanded that the old registration and commercialisation policy be restored and warned that if the government refused to listen to their demand the APPSAF would take to the streets.
The APPSAF members said that schools administrations would stage demonstrations against the FDA if it refused to cooperate with them.
APPSAF chairman Sadaqat Husian Lodhi and other office bearers – Dr Amjad Husain, Iqrar Husain Shah, Abdur Razzaq Raza, Qamar-ul-Haq Abid and Shaista Siddique attended the meeting.
They said the changes made to the registration and commercialisation policy were meant to ruin the private-sector institutions. They said private schools were playing a key role in promoting education in the country.
