Aqeel through, Yasir shocked in semis
Top-seed to take on Abid in tennis final.

Promising Mushtaq Abid caused the biggest upset of the UBL International Hardcourt Tennis Championship when he stunned second-seed Yasir Khan in the men’s singles semi-finals at the Karachi Gymkhana yesterday.
The Lahore youngster displayed commendable show against his experienced counterpart – winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 – to seal his place in the final of the event where he will take on top-seed and Pakistan’s top-ranked player Aqeel Khan.
Aqeel sailed into the final with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Sri Lanka’s Thangarjah Dinsehkant.
Meanwhile, Maheen Dada will take on Saba Aziz in the final of the ladies event. Dada beat Hania Naveed 6-1, 6-1 while Saba overwhelmed Hasindhi Lokuge 6-1, 6-2.
Syed Nofil Kaleem clinched the boys U-14 title after an impressive 6-3, 6-1 victory over Dawar Rehan in the final.
