Multi-gas cylinder transport: IHC re-issues notices to govt officials
Petition seeking a ban on the use of multiple CNG cylinders on public transport.
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday reissued notices to government officials seeking replies on the installation of multiple CNG tanks in public transport vehicles. The court issued notices to the petroleum and interior secretaries, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority and CDA chairmen, the Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited managing director, chief commissioner, deputy commissioner, Regional Transport Authority secretary and Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan director general on a petition seeking a ban on the use of CNG cylinders on public transport.
The petitioner said that on November 25 the court had directed the respondents to submit reply but except IG Islamabad none of the respondents filed their replies. He requested the court to impose a ban on the use of CNG cylinders in public transport. The court reissued notices to the respondents and adjourned the hearing till the second week of January.
