Major Drug Bust: Police seize 240kg of hashish

ISLAMABAD: The city police made one of its biggest drug busts on Tuesday, seizing over 240 kilograms of hashish concealed inside a truck. Acting on a tip, the Sabzi Mandi police intercepted a truck coming from Peshawar at toll plaza on IJ Principal Road. Upon inspection, the police found numerous packets of hashish concealed in different areas of the vehicle. The police seized the contraband and took the truck driver Bakhat Jamal and helper Jameel into custody after brief chase. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Mohammad Yousuf said the contraband was being smuggled to Rawat from Peshawar, adding that the two suspects are being interrogated. He announced cash prizes and commendation certifications for the police teams that made the bust.
