Sapna Khan case: Decision on December 24

Petitioner says Khosa killed Sapna.

LAHORE:

Additional District and Sessions Judge Azizullah Khan on Wednesday fixed December 24 to announce the court’s decision on the petition filed by Sapna Khan’s brother seeking registration of a case against former Punjab chief minister Dost Muhammad Khosa for allegedly harassing the petitioner.

Petitioner Muhammad Ameen Khan told the court that some unidentified men had met him on November 9. He said the men claimed to have been sent by Haider Bukhari and Rana Tanveer Ahmad on behalf of Khosa and threatened to kill his father, Missal Khan, if the petition against Khosa was not withdrawn.

After the incident, he said, suspicious men would continuously wander around his house. The petitioner requested the court to pass an order for the registration of a criminal case against the said men.

Petitioner’s counsel, Advocate Azhar Siddique, said that poor people suffered a lot to get their cases registered. He said Khosa had killed Sapna Khan and the police were not ready to register a case against him because of his affiliation with the ruling government.

Respondent’s counsel, Advocate Zubair Khalid, said that his client had been implicated in a false case to damage his reputation. He implored the court that a number of petitions were filed against his client, which were dismissed by the courts on merit. He told the court that Missal Khan, who claimed to be Sapna’s father, was not her father. He produced Nadra record in support of his contention.
