COAS extension
ISLAMABAD:
The honourable chief of army staff has been given another full three-year tenure in office by the prime minister. This has come after the extension in service of Justice (r) Khalilur Rehman Ramday's as an ad hoc judge of the Supreme Court some time ago.
In principle, there is no justification for giving extension to government functionaries because it demoralises the other individuals in an organisation who have waited for years for their turn to be promoted. It would set a paramount historical precedent if the honourable COAS and Justice Ramday were to decline these extensions and set excellent examples for the others in their institutions to follow?
