500 buildings in Lahore 'endangered and not safe to live in'
LAHORE:
The Government has failed to develop a strategy to take down 500 buildings in dilapidated condition in Lahore.
In a survey conducted by District Administration Lahore, more than 2,500 buildings were found to be in dilapidated condition out of which 500 buildings have already been declared endangered and not safe to live in.
DO Special Planning Qamarul Salam says action will only be taken by respective town administration.
However, the town administration says all building control rights have been taken away from them.
These buildings are at the brink of falling down any moment, yet, no measures have been taken by the administration so far.
