High coal prices: Kiln owners to stop business

Brick kiln owners will close their business from mid-January to protest against “arbitrary increase in coal prices”

FAISALABAD:
Brick kiln owners have announced that they will close their business from mid-January to protest against “arbitrary increase in coal prices” and imposition of heavy taxes by the government. Talking to the media here on Tuesday, Bhatti Owners Association Divisional President Chaudhry Saeed Ahmad Sindhu said the kiln industry was already on the verge of collapse in the wake of high input and labour charges and now the increase in coal prices and imposition of new taxes made it almost impossible to continue running the kilns.
