Registrar’s office objected that the matter related to Islamabad and the IHC was the proper forum to agitate the issue
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court registrar’s office on Tuesday returned a constitutional petition seeking direction to restrain President Asif Ali Zardari from holding his office on the grounds of violating the Constitution and his oath. The registrar’s office objected that the matter related to Islamabad and the Islamabad High Court was the proper forum in which to agitate the issue. Hafiz Muhammad Asim, the petitioner, had and also sought interpretation of Article 47 of the Constitution after the President allegedly said that if Article 47 is invoked against him, he would not accept it.
