LHC dismissed a petition seeking direction to the government to use a lie detector to gauge Husain Haqqani.

The Lahore High Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking direction to the government to use a lie detector to gauge whether Pakistan’s former ambassador to the US Hussain Haqqani was telling the truth regarding the ‘memogate’ scandal.
Justice Umar Ata Bandial had directed the petitioner’s counsel Barrister Javed Iqbal Jafree to argue regarding the reliability of a lie detector. On Monday, Jafree was unable to convince the court or produce documentary evidence regarding his allegations against Haqqani. He argued that many developed countries had used lie detectors.
Justice Bandial, initially, reserved the verdict but Jafree insisted the judge announce it in open court. The court then dismissed the petition through a short order.
