Convocation: 1,200 students graduate from Baqai medical college

Almost 12,00 MBBS, dentists, and pharmacologists graduate.

About 1,256 graduates were awarded degrees at the 7th convocation of Baqai Medical College on Saturday.



The convocation hosted students who graduated from 2008 to 2011 in the MBBS, Bachelors in Dental Sciences and Pharmacy programmes. In addition, 17 PhDs, 14 MPhils, two Masters of Science and Doctor of Science each also received their degrees. The convocation was held at the Baqai Medical College campus on the Super Highway.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Prof. Dr Attaur Rehman said, “Students are precious assets of any nation. Graduates now need to give back and serve society for its betterment.” The former chairman for the Higher Education Commission also urged students to create more centres of learning for future generations to help the youth grow and prosper.

In his welcome address Baqai Medical College Vice Chancellor Prof. Lt. Gen. (retired) Syed Azhar Ahmed said he hoped students would live up to the Baqai spirit of ‘Khidmat, Mehnat and Mohabbat’.  The convocation was the last event of the silver jubilee festivities for the college.
