Criticism: JI seeks respect for its banners
The JI leader saysthat the administration was “discriminating” against the party.

Jamaat-i-Islami criticised city administration on Saturday for taking down banners regarding the party’s sit-in planned for December 25. “Our banners inscribed with Kalma-i-Tayyaba are being removed by non-Muslim workers and transported in filthy sanitation vehicles,” the JI Lahore amir, Amirul Azeem, said. He said that whoever had any objection to the banners should contact the party “instead of removing them in such a disrespectful manner”. The JI leader said that the administration was “discriminating” against the party. “They did not remove PML-N and PTI hoardings and banners,” Azeem said. He said that banners had been removed from Ferozepur Road, Bhekewal Mor, Kalma Chowk, Liberty Chowk, Wahdat Road and Jain Mandir.
