Ayesha Malik case: SHO told to record Malik’s statement

‘Police threatened to rape me, my daughter if I didn’t sign blank papers’.

An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday directed the Islampura station house officer (SHO) to record the testimony of Ayesha Malik, who says she was tortured by police at the behest of the most powerful political family in the province.

Judge Rana Zahid Iqbal directed the SHO to record Malik’s statement and then proceed according to the law.

Malik, daughter of PML-Quaid leader Ahad Malik, had filed a petition alleging that she was arrested on false charges on November 14 at the behest of her family’s political enemies.

She earlier told the media that she used to be married to Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, son of the chief minister of Punjab.

Ayesha Malik said in the petition that Inspectors Iqbal Zulifqar Cheema and Attique Doger brutally tortured her and her daughter, threatening to gang rape them both if they did not put their thumb prints on blank stamp paper.

Ayesha Malik said the police officials also stole some US $10,000 (Rs890,000), a diamond ring and a watch worth Rs200,000.

Malik asked the court to register a criminal case against the police officials.
